Day Three

You What a fun day we had!

After a slow start to our day, we launched right into our Spelling and Vocabulary lesson for the say. Since this is Dakotah's least favorite, it helps to get it done first.

Continuing through our History of People study, we learned about languages around the world. He was shocked to learn the Chinese language has 40,000 characters! Although the kids only have to learn 3,000, he still said that was crazy!

After snuggling with me on the couch while we read another chapter in Charlotte's Web, he took a break to make me a picture on the iPad. I love it!

He wanted to 'scuba dive' in the tub again. It's entertaining for me! I think he spent about an hour in the tub.

After a fun Starbucks date, we picked up Sawyer at preschool and headed to the library. Sawyer chose to learn about cats, seals and zebras and Dakotah chose, of course, volcanoes!

I began working on Dakotah's volcano lapbook. We plan to do a two week study on volcanos. Here is the beginning of the lapbook. He will work through all the mini-books inside. This will be in conjunction with videos and hands on experiments.

After three full days of homeschool, I already see changes I intend to make in our curriculum. I'm excited to see where the next weeks and months take us.
